An energy company that originally planned to build 21 turbines on a Scottish turbine looks set to have its most recent attempt - for just nine turbines - rejected.

E.On reduced its original plans for Corsbie Moor, near Westruther in the Borders region, after negative feedback from local people.


And now officials at the Scottish Borders Council have advised refusal, saying the development would be out of scale with the landscape.

They also say walkers using the Southern Upland Way would experience "adverse cumulative impact" when the nine new turbines were added to existing schemes.

The scheme, which E.On said had been "carefully redesigned" along the way would have generated enough energy for between 10,000 and 15,000 households, depending on the turbines used.
