A charity that provides free complementary therapies for cancer patients has made a public appeal for help to finalise its new building in a converted chapel.
Cancer Support Scotland is due to move in to a new centre next to Gartnavel Hospital in Glasgow this September.
But although it has raised £300,000 already, it still needs £90,000 to complete the project
The B-listed building, formerly the Gartnavel Royal Hospital Chapel, was designed a the turn of the twentieth century by famous Scottish architect Sir J.J. Burnett.
The chapel's stained glass, by craftsman Robert Anning Bell, is being refurbished offsite and will be reinstated when the charity moves in.
The Calman Cancer Support Centre will offer support to 1,400 patients a year, trebling Cancer Support Scotland's current rates of service.
Members of the public are being urged to 'buy a brick' for a minimum of £50 to show their support.
Their names will be engraved on a plaque in the centre's new private terraced garden.
Donors who give £250 or more will have their name engraved on a glass wall in reception.
In May, the charity suffered a setback as thieves stole about £5,000 worth of tools from its new home while it was still in the construction phase.
Builders turned up for work to find drills, sanders, a jigsaw cutter and a router had been taken.
The new centre will include additional therapy and counselling rooms and a Hair, Nail and Foot Salon.
