Scottish Power is planning to build a new 14-storey Glasgow office.
The 220,000 square foot development will have desk space for 1500 staff from the utilities firm when it opens in late 2015.
Work will start next year on the newbuild, which will be the biggest single occupier office development seen in Glasgow in the last 25 years.
Located on the corner of St Vincent Street and India Street, the complex will replace office bases in Falkirk and Glasgow.
Helical Bar and its Scottish based development partner Dawn Developments have been selected as the preferred developer for the new HQ.
A detailed negotiation process will now start in order to finalise the construction details of the project.
As part of the development, Scottish Power's current office locations in Cathcart, Yoker and Falkirk will be taken on by Helical Bar, who will seek opportunities for future redevelopment of these sites.
Ignacio Galan, ScottishPower Chairman, said: "Our plans in the UK in the coming years require an office complex that is fit for purpose to deliver and manage these investments.
"This new development will ensure Glasgow remains home to ScottishPower's UK headquarters for the long term and will be a hub for delivering the £10billion of planned investment over the coming years."
The new offices will be built on the site of a proposed 134m high tower complex, which would have been Scotland’s tallest building but had to be dropped due to the ongoing financial crisis.
