Pupils at a Glasgow primary school had a visit from an unusual guest this week, who told them about how to keep safe near construction sites.
Safety mascot 'Ivor Goodsite' came with staff from City Building to teach pupils aged 7-11 about hazards to watch out for and the safety equipment used to make building sites safe.
The children at Parkview Primary also learnt about the types of materials used on a construction site and how they are recycled.
Developed by the Considerate Constructors Scheme, Ivor Goodsite is used to teach construction site safety to a young audience, while promoting the construction industry as a career choice for when they're older.
Paul Carey, chair of City Building, said the message was particularly important for children from Parkview Primary as some live near the company's Maryhill Locks development.
The £70m development will provide 400 new homes, shops and cafes around Maryhill Locks Park.
Next week primary six and seven students will don hard hats and high visibility jackets to be taken on a special tour of its site and learn more about the project.
Hugh Beattie, Maryhill Locks project manager at City Building, said: "At City Building we are dedicated to ensuring the communities we work in know exactly what is going on around them and how our developments will benefit them."
And head teacher Linda Rowan said it was "fantastic" and "beneficial" that City Building had taken the time for the safety initiative, "particularly before the summer holidays".
