A refurbished historical Glasgow building will throw open its doors next week to design students, photographers and businesses interested in renting the space.
Employers in Voluntary Housing (EVH) in Glasgow has issued an open invitation for Wednesday June 13, at any time between 12 noon and 4pm.
Betty's Room, on the fifth floor, is named after former EVH chairperson Betty Stevenson MBE, who died in 2004.
It is bright and airy and has been revamped with modern meeting facilities including roving mics, a wall-mounted projector and screen, Wi-Fi, a hearing loop and magnetic whiteboard, as well as full disability access.
But the room keeps its lofty curved ceiling, a remnant from its Rennie MacKintosh design and reminiscent of the days in the early 20th century when photographer Louis Saul Langfier used it as a studio resplendent in natural light.
Room hire is set at affordable rates, with a 20% discount for EVH members.
Anyone interested in seeing the space is welcome to visit on the open afternoon.
The building, designed by Honeyman, Keppie and MacKintosh, is at 137 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, G2 3EW, opposite the Savoy Centre.
No booking is required for the open afternoon but for more information, see www.evhevents.org.uk.
