New Middle East Offices For Aberdeen Company

A Scottish casing firm is set to move its Middle East offices to larger premises in order to accommodate its growing staff.

Downhole Products, headquartered at Portlethen near Aberdeen, reported a “significant increase in business in the region”.

Three new Business Development Managers have been recruited so the office will move to a bigger building in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Freezone.

Naeem Tahir will cover Pakistan, Kurdistan and Qatar and Michelle Passanha will cover Abu Dhabi, South Iraq and Oman, both working from the Dubai base.

Joseph Tan will be based in and focus on Kuwait.

In other good news, the company announced that increased business in Kurdistan, Northern Iraq, had led Downhole to open its first sales office there.

Managing Director Ian Kirk said: “We have progressively moved the company forward wthin this region over the past few years, with the demand for quality, reliable equipment from the operators ever increasing. Being specialists in our field with a reputation for professionalism, we are always striving to offer the best possible service and support for our clients and these new facilities in Dubai and Kurdistan underline our commitment to this.”

Downhole Products, established in 1994, specializes in the design, manufacture and supply casing accessories and completion tools including centralisers, reamer guide shoes and cable clamp protectors.

As well as its offices in Portlethen and Dubai, it has bases in Asia, the USA and Australia.
