Hastoe Housing Association

When RH Partnership Architects in Cambridge were working on a project of low cost and affordable housing in Newmarket, Suffolk, one of the products specified was maibec® Timber Cladding.

maibec® is a natural softwood timber, with an unrivalled 50 year warranty against rot and decay, and an 18 year warranty against peeling and blistering of the stained finish. This 18 year warranty can be extended by a further 15 years provided the timber is re-coated within the original 18 year period. This low maintenance and long guarantee was the key attraction to the client, Hastoe Housing Association.

Another appeal was that it allowed the architect to choose a non-standard colour to match the brick and windows. maibec® is available in 6 standard colours, however maibec® cladding factory-stained with Cabot® stain can reproduce any colour imaginable for the unique style you’re looking for.

There are extensive benefits to using maibec® timber cladding, including a proven history of the product. Along with the remarkable warranties, low maintenance and lifecycle cost mean that architects can specify this product with the confidence that the cladding will look amazing for years to come. Ease of installation, using traditional installation methods mean that contractors also benefit.

The A. Proctor Group can also, on request, offer maibec® cladding with Chain of Custody accreditation which ensures that the timber is sourced from a responsibly managed forest, providing income for future generations of forest workers.

The A. Proctor Group pride themselves on their customer care and their Technical and Commercial personnel are available to answer any queries.
