Leading independent timber importer, Swedscot Timber Ltd, is relocating from its current headquarters in Inverness to Westfield North Courtyard in Cumbernauld - which is owned and managed by Highcross.
The warehouse unit, extending to just under 14,198 sq ft, has been let to Swedscot on a competitive step rental agreement, and is one of the largest buildings in the estate.
Westfield North Courtyard offers refurbished industrial and office accommodation with units ranging in size from 7,732 – 14,160 sq ft. The estate is located immediately off Junction 3 of the M73 motorway at its merger with the M80, providing links to the M8 and M9 motorways.
The move to Westfield North Courtyard will see Swedscot Timber Ltd join a growing list of high-profile businesses including The Co-Operative Group Ltd, 1 Stop Renewables, Ashfield Medical Systems and Venture Trust.
Recent upgrades to the site’s surrounding road infrastructure, including the completion of the M80, has significantly improved drive times to and from Westfield and now offers even better access to the north and south of Scotland.
Steven McRitchie, director of Swedscot Timber Ltd said: "Key to our decision to locate to Westfield North Courtyard was the superb transport connections this site offers with the rest of the country. Westfield will provide an ideal base for our business as we continue to grow our reputation as one of Scotland’s leading independent timber importers."
Ross Blyth, graduate surveyor for Jones Lang LaSalle, said: "Westfield North Courtyard is ideally situated to take advantage of the new M80 Motorway network, and this latest letting demonstrates that first-class premises with excellent connectivity are in great demand. Westfield has continued to thrive as a mixed office and industrial location of choice and Swedscot Timber Ltd’s relocation will further boost this reputation."
Jones Lang LaSalle acted, on behalf of landlord Highcross, as letting agents for the office and industrial accommodation at Westfield North Courtyard.
