In a sure sign of mounting confidence in the outlook of the housing market in the south side of Glasgow, Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has recruited a graduate residential surveyor at its Glasgow South office in Shawlands.
Charlie Gilmour brings a wealth of experience to the firm. Having graduated in building surveying in 2007, he completed a construction management post-grad the following year prior to embarking on a career in the property sector working for a surveyor, a housing association, a property and construction company and a period in property development before concluding that his heart lay in residential property surveying.
"When I was given the opportunity to work with Shepherd I was delighted because the firm is going places and, having worked in various roles within the property sector, I had recently decided to pursue a career as a residential property surveyor," he said.
"As a resident of Netherlee, I’m particularly excited to be working from Shepherd’s Glasgow South office at a time when a mood of cautious optimism is starting to pervade the local housing market within the south side of Glasgow. Indeed, my wife and I were attracted to the area by the availability of high quality schooling, community and housing stock."
Welcoming Gilmour to the firm, Martin Waite, head of Shepherd’s Glasgow South residential office, said: "I am convinced that Charlie’s breadth of experience and in-depth knowledge of the local area will prove to be of great assistance in helping home owners value their south side properties.
"He understands property, has a very keen eye for detail and takes great pride in his work; attributes which enable Shepherd to enhance its offering to home owners in the south side at a time where there are encouraging signs of an uplift in activity in the local housing market."
Shepherd’s Glasgow South office, at 196 Kilmarnock Road, services all of the southside, including Clarkston, Newton Mearns and Whitecraigs.
