A small scots construction company are highlighting their talents in an imaginative way – by using their new headquarters as a "gallery" that showcases their abilities.
Pacific Building Limited, whose prestigious client list includes burger giants McDonald’s, pub chain JD Wetherspoon, Gleneagles Hotel, bakery firm Greggs and BAA, have transformed the interior of their base to allow it to convey the quality of their work and the sectors in which they operate.
They are earning a growing reputation as a company who are able to deliver complex refurbishments in "live" public areas right across the UK and Ireland on time and within budget – and with minimal disruption to clients’ trade.
Already under their belts are impressive fit-out and building projects for McDonald’s worth £7.5million, including the burger giants’ European headquarters in Edgware Road, London.
And with annual turnover in excess of £7.5million, the firm, who employ 32 people, are well placed for further growth during the current period of economic difficulty in which many construction companies are struggling to secure work or, indeed, stay in business.
Each of the sectors in which Pacific operates – airports, commercial, hotels, leisure and retail – are recreated on a smaller scale in different areas within the building, giving visitors and potential clients an indication of the diverse capabilities of the firm.
Managing director Brian Gallacher, who formed Pacific in 2005, said: "The expertise for which Pacific is renowned is being proudly showcased at our headquarters.
"It’s not often in our business that you have the chance to work on your own projects, and the whole team have enjoyed the process – as well as the results.
"Our hope is that the space will highlight the complete service we provide for clients looking to create dynamic and inspiring work spaces.
"Since our inception, our commitment to exceeding customer expectations has rewarded us with both new and repeat business."
The building also offers more space than the firm's previous home – a short distance away in Paisley – as well as room for any future expansion. Comprising offices and meeting rooms, occupying 5,000 square feet, it includes an adjoining workshop area, extending to a further 3,000 square feet.
Archie Ferguson, chair of industry body Construction Scotland, said: "Pacific Building is an excellent example of the significant skills and expertise available within the Scottish construction sector. The work on show in the new premises demonstrates the diverse capabilities which have helped the firm to deliver impressive results for clients across the UK and Ireland.
"This striking project, particularly in the current challenging climate, is a first-class example of growth and achievement. It should encourage others in the industry and clearly shows that the sector continues to deliver innovative outcomes. By sharing such success stories we can develop new ideas which will build an even brighter future for the industry."
