Property investment and development company Chancerygate has sold a three-acre plot at its Altens East site in Aberdeen for an undisclosed sum to CAN, a leading integrity and inspection contractor which provides engineering, inspection and maintenance to the oil and gas, renewable energy, construction, civil engineering, marine and structural maintenance industries worldwide.
CAN plans to build a substantial office and storage facility to serve as its new Aberdeen engineering office.
Mark McQueen, Senior Surveyor at Shepherd Commercial, which advised Chancerygate on the sale, said: "The sale of this land to CAN for its new facility demonstrates a continuing demand for commercial land on the south side of Aberdeen. Altens East is the prime industrial location in the city and we are presently in discussions with a number of parties on both land sales and bespoke office and industrial buildings at this site.
"Chancerygate’s Altens East site is well located with extensive frontage onto Hareness Road and we are confident of further interest and development on the site on the back of this deal."
Innes Walker, Director at CAN, commented: "This development demonstrates our commitment to investing in Aberdeen and reflects our recognition of the advantages that Altens East offers over other sites. We will continue to grow our business in the heart of Aberdeen and look forward to working with Chancerygate going forward."
Chancerygate is a privately-owned development and investment company that has developed more than six million sq ft of industrial/commercial space with a value of more than £1bn. The company’s asset management business has more than £300m of property under management. It has undertaken in excess of £500m of real estate transactions and has a track record of large portfolio acquisitions and value enhancement.
