Mansell's Aberdeen team recently completed Project Harper, a £13 million design and build commercial contract, across two sites, for Huntaven Properties Ltd.
The work follows on from the successful completion of their office and mess facility at the Fourdon site earlier in the year.
Construction at the Badentoy site included a three-storey office extension to the customer's head office premises covering a floor space of 1350m2, as well as the complete refurbishment of their existing three-storey office set up. Work also included an extension to the factory and workshop areas including the construction of three high pressure test cell structures four meters high. The 500mm concrete walls and roof of the test cells were lined internally with 5mm steel plate and included blast proof doors.
Externally alterations were carried out to reform their existing car park and also construct a new 200-space car park.
The operation was carried out in five phases on the Badentoy site in order to minimise disruption to the customer’s existing ongoing facility. Close daily communication was essential between the Mansell management team and the customer.
Construction at the Fordoun site included a new 3200m2 workshop and swager building and associated major external works including 27,500m2 of concrete pipe yard. The pipeyard was located on the perimeter of a World War II aerodrome with part of the runway recycled and used as fill material.
