Stirling Council is to hold a public consultation following revised mitigation proposals for Scottish Power Transmissions Ltd's (SPT) Beauly - Denny overhead power line.
A condition of the power line consent given by the Scottish Government was for SPT to produce a Stirling Visual Impact Mitigation Scheme.
Stirling Council has undertaken an assessment of the revised Stirling Visual Impact Mitigation Scheme proposals on behalf of the Power Line Steering Group.
SPT presented its first version of the Scheme to the Minister for Energy, Enterprise & Tourism at the start of 2011, who subsequently requested SPT to engage with Stirling Council to investigate more effective mitigation options.
Revised proposals were submitted to the Minister in August 2011.
Chair of the Council's Beauly to Denny Powerline Steering Group, Councillor Callum Campbell, said: "It is vital that there is effective mitigation to protect the residents, landscape and amenities of the Stirling Council area. I urge as many people as possible to come along to our next meeting so everyone's views can be heard."
Following this meeting, to which all residents and interested parties are invited to attend and express their views on the proposals, the Council will be providing a further response to the Scottish Government by 14 October 2011.
The meeting will be held on Monday 26 September 2011 at 7pm in Wallace High School, Stirling.
