One of Britain’s leading residential and mixed-use developers, Redrow, has joined forces with Scott ELM, a division of the newly rebranded Scott Group, to launch a specialist pallet repatriation service for all its building projects across the UK.
Clive Parry, Commercial Director at Redrow, said: "We decided to run the pallet repatriation service as part of an initiative to reduce packaging waste on our building sites and currently over 65% of our sites are already taking part. The scheme will also further highlight Redrow’s commitment to improving our sustainability credentials by using less materials and creating less waste."
All suppliers to Redrow will be required to mark pallets with an identifier that will enable Scott ELM to return them to source.
Scott ELM offers various pallet management services across a range of sectors including specification evaluation, tracking, tracing and recovering transit packaging from market. Services include inspection, repair and refurbishment of transit packaging as well as statistical analysis of packaging specification performance.
Michael Noble, Managing Director at Scott ELM, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Redrow on this service and have already collected over 20 tonnes of pallets so far. This initiative is absolutely in line with the industry’s objective of reducing packaging waste and promoting the re-use of transit packaging and reinforces Redrow’s positive environmental status within the market."
Scott ELM is a division of the Scott Group. The Group was established in 1987 as a family-run sawmill and today employs over 1000 people UK-wide. The business is committed to ensuring customers are at the forefront of the latest industry developments and thrives on finding the most effective solutions for customers with the aim of providing quality products and a professional, straight-talking service at a competitive price.
