Building products manufacturer Steadmans has provided a full range of components for the complete building envelope on a new 2,700 sq m expansion project at Scotland’s largest independent grain merchant.
W.N. Lindsay wished to modernise and expand its existing grain store facility at North Esk Granaries in Brechin, Angus. The company appointed Forfar-based Scot-Steel Buildings as the main contractor for the project.
Steadmans supplied 2,000 sq metres of AS6 fibre cement sheets for the roof and manufactured 750 sq metres of AS34/1000 deep profile cladding sheet finished in Slate Blue plastisol for the upper walls, complete with flashings.
Steadmans’ complete product range offering saw the company supply 700 lin metres of galvanised grain wall panels along with 3,000 lin metres of cold rolled steel purlins, rails and eaves beams for the support structure of the building.
Commenting on the 20 week project, Scot-Steel Buildings’ director Jock McPherson, said: “Steadmans’ extensive product range is ideal for this type of project and it is very convenient to deal with one supplier for the entire building envelope.
“The products themselves are first class, supported by great customer service, which helped us ensure the project was completed on time and on budget. W.N. Lindsay are very pleased with the building and have appointed us on another grain store extension where we are again using Steadmans products exclusively.”
