Play Area At Beecraigs Country Park Reopens

Beecraigs play area has reopened after a major refurbishment just in time for the holiday weekend.

West Lothian Council has spent £200,000 upgrading the park with popular favourites such as swings, climbing frames, and revolving equipment all included as part of the fun. The iconic towering rope net has been retained.

A tunnel embankment slide and two cableways located 'side-by-side' will allow fun seekers to race one another as they fly through the air, not to mention the sandworks that will provide children with hours of fun and learning. The facility also offers a toddler play area as well as a teen play area - so there?s something for everyone.

Visitors to the park will also see the new Highland calves including Tommy, the celebrity white calf.

There are also lovely walks and picnic areas.

Project manager, Colin Bell, said: "We have worked in partnership with Livingston based company, The Play Practice (Scotland) Ltd, to design and layout this flagship facility to make best use of the natural landscape. The park looks fantastic and will be popular with local families."

Robert De Bold, Executive councillor for the environment, said: "The council is absolutely delighted that play area is finished, and is another great reason to visit Beecraigs Country Park."
