A leading manufacturers and installer of carports and canopies - which supplies a range of clients in Scotland - GRP Canopies, has launched its new glass veranda range.
The new product is said to be unique with its cantilevered design, covered by UK and EU patents. With optional inbuilt heaters, lighting (LED) and sound system the product represents the opening of a significant new market for the company which elevated from Limited to Plc. in November 2010.
Members of the design and engineering team gathered at the companies headquarters at the end of March for final testing of the product which successfully passed a load test well in excess of the required Building standard.
An evening reception was then held under the new veranda installed at the Coalsnaughton premises to celebrate the launch of the product into the market. Preparation has been meticulous with training for the company's surveyors and installation teams as well as the purchase of new plant and machinery to both manufacture and install these impressive structures.
The company will be attending several high profile shows this Summer where a veranda will be installed at the companies stand showing all the features and options available to visiting members of the public.
Although initially targeted at the UK domestic market the product is expected to attract interest from hotels and other leisure establishments as a unique feature to compliment either entrance or relaxation areas.
With no comparable product available anywhere in the world it is hoped to develop an export market following in the footsteps of the company's successful record for traditional canopies.
March 2011 saw five large canopies exported to Nigeria with orders continuing to come in from the West Indies.
The ability of the company to supply bespoke canopies to withstand class 'C' hurricanes in that region has started to result in additional orders following the installation of a 503 square metre traditional canopy in May 2010.
