Local residents can find out more about Aberdeen City Council's latest social housing development at two drop-in sessions on Tuesday 19 April at Cairncry Community Centre, Foresterhill Road.

The events will enable citizens to meet members of the project team working on phase 3 of Aberdeen's new build council house programme; the proposed development at Oldcroft Place was the former site of Croft House care home.


The scheme will comprise of 31 units (11 houses and 20 flats) developed around a Homezone residential street that will have a courtyard layout with sheltered, usable external space to encourage social interaction among residents.

Leading construction firm Robertson has been appointed to build the development that will provide high quality 21st century family housing in Aberdeen.

Residents will have the opportunity to register their comments/feedback on the proposals at the drop-in sessions.

The development has secured planning consent as it is for local authority housing and therefore deemed as Permitted Development in accordance with Policy 36 of the Aberdeen Local Plan.

The building work is due to start later this month [Thursday 28 April 2011] and is due for completion in April 2012.
