Ayrshire-based building services company James Frew has signed up to the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s Company Registration initiative.
Launched in 1997 to improve the industry’s image, the CCS is a national initiative designed to promote best practice beyond that required by law on building sites and construction projects.
Companies who register commit to being considerate and good neighbours, as well as clean, respectful, safe, environmentally conscious, responsible and accountable.
Roddy Frew, Managing Director of James Frew, said the company will be proudly displaying the Scheme’s Company Registration logo on its vans and on the sites it is working on.
He added: “We have always tried to go the extra mile to minimise disruption to our customers and we will now be able to benchmark our performance against other best practitioners in the industry.
“We know that simple measures like reducing noise, cutting waste and keeping sociable working hours make a huge difference to the lives of people who live in the homes and neighbourhoods in which we are working. Being considerate is of paramount importance to us and we will continue to strive for excellence in this area.”
The company currently provides heating and maintenance services for 17,000 residents within 16 housing associations throughout the Scottish central belt and Ayrshire. The company’s GasSure division also provides services for 8,000 residents.
James Frew also offers integrated building services including plumbing, heating, mechanical services, gas maintenance and property upgrades for public and private sectors including design, installation and maintenance.
Edward Hardy, Chief Executive of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, said: “We are delighted to welcome James Frew to the Scheme. It is great to see a building service company coming on board and showing their commitment to the aims of the Scheme and we can only hope this leads the way for other building service companies to follow suit.”
