A local company behind the restoration of a Victorian bridge in Dundee could be set to give the same treatment to another city structure.
Land & Building Services, who repaired and conserved Hird Bridge in Balgay Park in 2008, are being recommended to tackle a similar job on the Linlathen East Bridge.
Members of Dundee City Council's city development committee will be asked to approve a £399,000 contract to remove and restore the Category A listed iron bridge.
Will Dawson convener of the city development committee said: "This bridge spans the Dighty Burn in the Linlathen estate and has been a distinctive feature of the area since it was built in 1796.
"However in more than 200 years of exposure to the elements the bridge has obviously deteriorated and is now at the point where what is needed is complete removal and restoration."
Councillors will be asked to approve the Land & Building Services tender to restore the iron facade and create a new internal load bearing structure.
In 2008 the same company completed a £290,000 renovation on the Hird Bridge in Balgay Park which won a Commendation in the Conservation Category in the 2009 Saltire Society Civil Engineering Awards
The city development committee meets on Monday (March 28).
