Guests attending a reception in Aberdeen held by Scottish commercial property experts, FG Burnett, have heard how the company continued to build on the strength of its expert team.
Leading figures in the property, legal and finance sectors attended the reception at the Marcliffe Hotel where FG Burnett managing director Angus MacCuish reported the business was performing well.
Mr MacCuish said: “We are fortunate that the bulk of our business is generated in the most economically buoyant section of the UK bar perhaps London and parts of the south east of England.
“Whilst our trading for the year to 30 April 2010 was less than the preceding year we still posted a profit, and kept our team intact, which is not a claim that many in our industry are able to make. We are now in the final quarter of our current financial year and barring a disaster, we should finish up at or around the target we set ourselves back in April 2010.”
Mr MacCuish said the decision to ramp up activities in the Central Belt by increasing the company’s offering in Glasgow was paying dividends.
He said: “We made two new high level appointments, namely Ewen White and Stuart Orr, as directors specialising in the investment sector, while another addition to the Board during the current financial year was Christopher Yannaghas who is based in Aberdeen and heads up our Property Management Department.
“The business is in good heart but we can never be complacent. We are constantly looking for opportunities to strengthen and bolster the team and there are several initiatives on the stocks.”
