OEG Offshore's Texas Office Clinches Contracts

The Houston subsidiary of the Aberdeen-based supplier and manufacturer of containers and modules, OEG Offshore, has secured a series of contract wins worth more than $1.15 million (£720,000).

OEG Offshore LLC has been contracted to build three modules for GE Hydril – a control room, power room and workshop – which will be used in a Chevron project in the Gulf of Mexico.

The firm has also won a deal with Pride International to supply a variety of DNV containers, skips, cargo baskets and open top containers for use on Pride’s new drillship Deep Ocean Mendocino.

Other contracts include one to deliver a DNV 2.7-1 specialist cabin to data acquisition module supplier MSCI for use in Italy and supplying Helix Energy Solutions Group and Nebraska-based Mike Schneider Masonry with a selection of 20ft containers and two units for use in the Gulf of Mexico region.

President of OEG Offshore LLC, Larry Bobbitt, says the clutch of deals is a good indication that a positive year lies ahead for the company, which was established in July 2010.

He said: “Winning a series of large contracts with major operators is a fantastic start to the year, particularly for an office that has been open for less than 12 months. Since our launch last year we have strategically built up an impressive client base and with an increasing awareness of our business in the US and OEG’s excellent global reputation, we are confident that the business will continue to grow during 2011.

“Since the moratorium on deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico was lifted, we have seen a gradual return to ‘business as usual’ within the container and module sector and we are pleased that OEG is experiencing this period of increased activity and we are well positioned to meet the increased demands.

“The variety of products and services required for each of these deals – including the Pride deal in which we will be providing the customer’s specific branding – are indicative of OEG’s ability to tailor its services to accommodate our customers’ needs.”
