Proposals Revealed For New Trinity Development In Edinburgh

CALA Homes have lodged a detailed planning application for the redevelopment of the six-acre former Trinity Park House site in Edinburgh.

The application includes a range of semi-detached, terraced and mews houses along with some apartments on an enclosed, tree-lined site.

Kevin Whitaker, Managing Director of CALA East, believes the design of the proposals reflects the strong demand for family homes in the Capital.

“CALA has a strong track record in developing high quality family homes in the Trinity area, with recent developments in East Fettes selling well and Pavilion in Inverleith having sold out in spring 2010,” he said.

“The Trinity Park site will provide another great opportunity to deliver high quality homes in a highly desirable area. Opportunities like Trinity Park House do not come along too often in Edinburgh, and it is further proof that the city can continue to be an attractive and desirable location despite the housing downturn. The flexibility for CALA to deal with a site of this size shows the confidence of our recent experience of the Edinburgh market.

“The proposals reflect the need for high quality family homes in the area, with the new-build design incorporating garages, en-suites and large family areas within a traditional exterior layout.”

CALA purchased the Trinity Park House site from RSM Tenon, the administrators for the previous owners, Ailsa Investments Limited. The site previously had a planning permission for 256 apartments along with an underground car park.

Subject to planning, CALA expects to start on site in the summer with the first homes being available in spring 2012.
