New 'Loo-k' At Shopping Centre

Visitors to St John's Shopping Centre, Perth, will be treated to a whole new 'loo-k' from next month as the centre prepares for the first major redecoration of their public toilet facilities since it opened in 1987.

The public loo, which will take two weeks to fully fit out, will adopt a modern and fresh look complete with new hand basins, environmentally friendly Dyson cold air hand-dryers, and vastly improved lighting, heating and ventilation.

The plans which will cost a five figure sum will refresh St John’s Shopping Centre’s public toilet facilities, which are used by thousands of visitors every day, and will further enhance the use of the facilities by those patrons with special requirements.

Siobhan McConnell, St John’s Shopping Centre manager, commented: "We are committed to continually improving our facilities in St John’s Shopping Centre and ensuring that the public’s needs are fully met. These works will enhance the visitor shopping experience, not just in the shopping centre but in Perth as a whole.”

Redecoration works begin on Monday 28th February and the toilets will re-open to the public on Monday 14th March. It is being recommended that customers make use of the alternative public toilet facilities operated by Perth & Kinross Council in Ropemaker Close (next to Canal Street Multi-Storey Car Park) during this period.
