Law firm HBJ Gateley Wareing is asking participants to limber up for the annual ‘Question of Sport’ style quiz when they host Sportsquest 2011 at the EICC, Edinburgh on Thursday 3rd March 2011.
Quizmaster and host for the event will be Sky Sports pundit and former footballer, Alan McInally. Now in its thirteenth year, and attracting over 700 corporate guests, Sportsquest has become a respected and established event in the Scottish business calendar.
Building on the success of previous years which raised over £1 million for two Scottish charities – The Edinburgh Headway Group and Children’s Aid (Scotland), the event is on course to be a sell out once again.
The evening will see teams of ten completing to take gold by demonstrating their knowledge of sport through five rounds of questions. All of the money raised will once again be shared equally between local charities, The Edinburgh Headway Group and Children’s Aid (Scotland).
Children’s Aid (Scotland) is dedicated to helping and supporting Scotland’s children charities, distributing money to the likes of Capability Scotland, the Scottish Society for Autism and many paediatric hospitals in order to help provide vital equipment and services. The Edinburgh Headway Group, based at Astley Ainslie Hospital, focuses on providing information, care and support to those with brain injuries, their families and carers.
Commenting on the upcoming event Malcolm McPherson, senior partner at HBJ Gateley Wareing said: “Sportsquest is an incredibly fun event which has become a regular feature in the business calendar. Given the current economic challenges facing Scotland’s charities it is vital that, where possible, the business community plays its part in assisting the most vulnerable in our society.”
Sportsquest is part of the firm’s robust corporate social responsibility programme which includes a number of fundraising initiatives and environmental and community involvement projects planned throughout 2011.
