Galliford Try plc, the housebuilding and construction group, has been awarded £23.2 million of contracts within the health and education sectors.
In the education sector, Galliford Try has been awarded an £8.1 million contract to develop the University of Manchester’s School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science. The work will comprise the design, build and fit-out of the Project’s Phase 1 five-storey building which will include pilot plant, academic and research laboratories, teaching and administration facilities. Completion is expected by August 2011.
In the health sector, Galliford Try has been awarded two contracts worth a total of £9.0 million to develop the Nuclear Medicine Unit and Assisted Conception Unit at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for NHS Tayside.
Galliford Try has also achieved financial close on a £6.1 million LIFT project to build a new medical centre, library and sixth form facility for Liverpool & Sefton Health Partnership. Galliford Try has a long term framework partnering agreement with LSHP and this will be the tenth building constructed under the agreement. The contract will involve the construction of the new purpose built medical centre for Liverpool PCT together with a library for Liverpool City Council and a sixth form facility for Childwall School on the site of a former library at Childwall Fiveways in Liverpool.
