Bodybuilders Muscle In On Gym Scene

Two of Scotland’s competing natural bodybuilders are behind a gym which opens on Monday in Arbroath.

Derek Wann, a director of Forfar-based FMS Construction, was placed fourth in the British Natural Bodybuilding Federation Scottish heat recently, which gave him an automatic invitation to the national finals.

Derek’s business partner in the gym venture is Lee Page who came third in the same competition, heavyweight category.

The Warehouse Gym on John Street West, along from Dingbro, incorporates a weight training gym with punchbag room and a ladies-only gym called Body Worx where 30 minute circuit with cardio vascular machines is the main feature.

“The men’s gym has mainly free weight machines which are better for all-round training and development than anything else. We also have a punchbag room which is fully equipped for use by boxers for additional training or anyone wanting to keep fit by hitting a bag,” said Nikki Wilshire, the gym manager.

“The ladies gym is a 30 minute circuit gym, exclusively for women, with the added touch of having additional cardio vascular machines like a cross trainer, treadmill and recumbent bike to give additional fitness exercises.”

There will be an open weekend at the gym on October 2-3 when anybody is welcome to look around and take part in a free session.

The Warehouse is where Derek and Lee will be training towards their next BNBF appearances.
