Scottish Renewables are welcoming nominations for the coveted Green Energy Awards which will be held at Edinburgh’s International Conference Centre in December.
The awards, sponsored by RWE npower renewables, recognise the most innovative and exciting renewable energy businesses and projects in Scotland as well as celebrate the achievements the industry has made in the last year.
There are nine categories to be nominated in and the same individual or organisation may be nominated in multiple categories.

Nominations can be made of your own business, clients, projects, or an individual you believe has made an outstanding contribution to the renewables industry in Scotland. The awards dinner is also a great opportunity to meet fellow trailblazers from the world of energy, academia and politics with more than 800 attendees expected at this year’s event.
Niall Stuart, Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables, said: “The industry has grown massively over the last twelve months and there are a lot of people out there who deserve to be congratulated for their work to harness the potential of renewable energy in their area. If there is a project or person that is worthy of an award, we want to know about them.
“The Green Energy Awards 2010 is a celebration of those who have made big contributions to the success of renewable energy industry in Scotland. It has been a particularly exciting year for Scotland with marine, wave, tidal, onshore and offshore wind as well as bioenergy making huge strides in innovation and development.
“Scotland is the leader in manufacturing, research and deployment of renewables and we hope this year’s awards will reflect the hard work this industry has done throughout 2010. With so many ambitious companies and community initiatives across the country competing, we expect this year’s Scottish Green Energy awards to be the best yet.”
Winners will be announced at the ninth Scottish Green Energy Awards, organised by Scottish Renewables, on Thursday 2 December at Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
