Formartine councillors will be asked to grant full planning permission for a championship golf course at the Menie Estate, near Balmedie, next week.
Applicant Trump International Golf Links Scotland is seeking full permission for the construction of the golf course, along with the creation of a driving range, short game area, putting green and turf nursery.
The application will come before councillors at a meeting in Ellon Kirk Centre next Tuesday, June 29.
Outline permission for a golf course and resort development at the estate was granted by Scottish ministers in December 2008, and earlier this month the Formartine Area Committee discussed a number of conditions concerning the wider development.
As such, the application to be considered next week should not be seen as a ‘stand alone’ application given its clear links with previous decisions that have been made, highlights a report to go before the committee.
The application has attracted 10 letters of representation concerning the need for the creation of a bond relating to the development, and making reference to outstanding conditions linked with outline permission previously granted for development at the site.
The committee will be asked to delegate approval of the application to the planning service, subject to an agreement concerning the provision of a bond, and a number of further conditions.
These include providing details of works access to the site, and the limiting audible works to 7am-7pm Monday to Friday, 7am-12pm on Saturday, and no working on Sundays or public and local holidays.
