One of the largest architecture practices in Scotland and the UK, Archial Architects, has completed the £2.5 million fit-out for Shell Shared Services at 141 Bothwell Street, Glasgow on time and within budget.
The four month project culminated in over 600 staff moving into 60,000 sq ft of cellular and open plan office space over three floors at the Grade A 10 storey office development located in the heart of Glasgow’s International Financial Services District.
Working to original designs by HOK Architects, Archial's remit was to complete the fit-out of the fast-moving contract on time and within budget whilst ensuring that quality prevailed throughout.
Archial Director Chris Cockburn, said: "Having liaised closely with HOK throughout this project, we are delighted to conclude this intensive period of site works and meetings to the client’s satisfaction with the delivery of a high quality office environment."
Other team members working alongside Archial on the fit-out were project managers DTZ, building services company Wallace Whittle and structural engineer ACIES.
Designed by Archial's Edinburgh office, 141 Bothwell Street provides large floor plates of up to 20,000 sq ft, giving a total of 180,000 sq ft of high quality office accommodation and 60 car spaces. The award-winning development was the first building of its type in Glasgow to achieve BREEAM Excellent status – a designation reflecting the property’s environmental credentials.
The building was developed by Premier Property Group (PPG), the property arm of Sir David Murray’s Murray International Holdings Group and was recently bought by Strathclyde Pension Fund (SPF), which is managed by Glasgow City Council.
