The new Glenearn Community Campus in Perth was officially opened on Friday by Environment Minister Roseanna Cunningham.
The campus, part of Perth & Kinross Council's £136m Investment in Learning Programme, has been the home of the new Inch View Primary and Nursery School since it opened its doors in October 2009.
The building provides state of the art classrooms for learning and teaching for pupils and staff. It also includes high-quality modern facilities for a wide range of community uses outside school hours including a multi-use games area, sports/assembly hall and music, art, drama and meeting rooms.
Depute Council Leader, Councillor George Hayton, gave Ms Cunningham a guided tour of the campus and introduced her to staff and pupils along the way.
Councillor Hayton said: "Glenearn Community Campus represents part of a major investment in education and community facilities by the Council. It will benefit children, young people and local communities throughout Perth and Kinross with enhanced education and community facilities.
"In the short time it has been opened it has already become a much-valued and much-used focus for community events and activities."
Ms Cunningham, who is also MSP for Perth, said: "I am delighted to be here today to join with the staff and pupils of Glenearn Community Campus in celebrating the official opening of their new school. I have no doubt that they have already settled in to this wonderful new building and I am hugely impressed with what is on offer.
"The Community Campus model for new schools is one that has proved successful in other parts of Perth and Kinross. I am confident that Glenearn will be no exception and am sure that current pupils, future pupils and the wider community will enjoy many years of this fine facility."
Councillor Hayton, added: "This new Campus is an impressive facility for people of all ages. It will provide a modern learning and teaching environment for pupils and staff as well as a wide range of opportunities for community activities and sport for many years to come. Everyone at the school was delighted to welcome Roseanna Cunningham today for the official opening."
Glenearn Community Campus is open Monday to Friday between 7am and 10pm and between 8am and 5pm at weekends. The sports facilities are managed by Perth & Kinross Leisure, who will also deliver community sports and recreation programmes outside school hours.
