Opus Seek Out International Opportunities

Construction News Image
Representatives from produced water treatment, oil and gas separation and aquatic toxicology specialist, Opus, are set to undertake international trips and attend prestigious industry events later this month, as the firm looks to further expand its global reach.

The company is exhibiting at the Australasian Oil and Gas Exhibition & Conference in Perth, Australia, from March 24 – 26, as part of the Scottish Pavilion – a selection of Scottish firms, organised and brought together by SDI (Scottish Development International) to showcase the services Scotland-based businesses can offer the global oil and gas industry.

Opus is looking to utilise the opportunity to highlight a range of its specialised products and services, including the company’s innovative technologies – for example, its Compact Flotation Unit (CFU) and Mare’s Tail equipment – and its production optimisation studies and processes, to the Australasian market.

The firm’s Business Development Manager, Rik Dawson, is also due to participate in a trade mission to Brazil, which is being organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and SDI from March 20 – 27, to promote British oil and gas providers to the Brazilian sector.

Visiting both Rio De Janeiro and Macae, Rik will showcase Opus’ CFU equipment, along with the company’s produced water management capabilities and technology upgrades.

Glen McLellan, Opus’ Engineering Manager, who is attending the Australasian Oil and Gas Exhibition & Conference, commented: "These trips will provide important opportunities to further spread the Opus name on an international level and highlight that our technologies and capabilities – when applied individually or combined – deliver significantly increased production efficiency and improved environmental performances.

"We organised the trips as we aim to further extend our exposure within the Australasian and Brazilian sectors, and we look forward to seeking out potential business partners to establish local presences, developing our contacts and gaining a greater sense of the local markets."

Opus provides the offshore oil and gas market with a range of engineering and environmental services, including fluids characterisation and performance monitoring of offshore facilities, validation testing of process equipment and marine ecotoxicity testing of production chemicals.
