Maryhill Housing Association successfully defended its title when it took game, set and match at the HBJ Gateley Wareing LintelTrust Tennis Tournament.
The title defenders scooped the trophy after winning the round-robin event beating off tough competition from New Gorbals Housing Association.
Ten teams picked up their racquets to raise £ 2,500 for the LintelTrust, a voluntary organisation working with local communities throughout Scotland to help provide solutions for people in need. Through its grants programme the LintelTrust awards funding to community and voluntary organisations for housing related projects which help people to live as independently as possible in their own homes and communities.
The annual charity tennis tournament, now in its seventh year, is part of HBJ Gateley Wareing’s robust corporate social responsibility programme which includes a number of fundraising initiatives and environmental and community involvement projects planned throughout 2010.
Heather Pearson, Partner at HBJ Gateley Wareing, said: "We are delighted again at how successful this tournament has been. We were inundated with entries this year and once again it was a fantastic event which offered an excellent opportunity for participants to give back to the local community, as well as having some fun.
"Congratulations must go to defending champions, Maryhill Housing Association who scooped the title. They once again played like professionals and fought off tough competition during the round-robin event.
"The tournament raised awareness of the work of the LintelTrust and a huge thank you to participants who raised a total of £ 2,500 to help provide solutions for those in housing need."
