Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has appointed Philip Bell as a Head of its Edinburgh Building Surveying division.

With 20 years of extensive professional experience in Project Management and commercial Building Surveying, Edinburgh born and bred Mr Bell has held Partnership and Director positions with various specialist project management and building surveying practices.

Ian Hannon, Managing Partner at Shepherd, said: "We're delighted to welcome Philip to the firm at a time of controlled growth of our Building Surveying division. Philip brings with him a wealth of technical and managerial experience that is rarely available."


Speaking of his appointment, Mr Bell said: I'm very pleased to join Shepherd at an exciting time for expansion of our building surveying services throughout Scotland.

"Amongst my areas of responsibility are: pre-acquisition surveys; schedules of condition; dilapidations (acting for landlord and tenant); expert witness cases; feasibility studies; financial management of contracts: cost control and overseeing the delivery of a prompt and efficient service to clients."

In addition to his extensive Building Surveying experience, Mr Bell has undertaken Project Management on all types of commercial, leisure and residential developments. He also advises on all technical aspects of property and legal occupational liabilities. Prior to becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor, he gained ten years contracting experience with major national contractors.
