Plans for Transport Scotland's £9 million A77 Burnside scheme will go on show in early March, giving the public an opportunity to express their views on the proposals.
The national transport agency and its operating company Amey are inviting members of the public to attend the exhibition which will take place in Girvan on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 March 2010.
Alex Joannides, Transport Scotland's project manager said: "We are taking an early opportunity to engage with our many stakeholders on this scheme.
"Together with Amey, who are designing and managing the scheme on our behalf, we have already carried out some face-face consultation. We would encourage interested parties to come along to see the designs for the scheme as this is their chance to express their views."
The £9 million improvement scheme, planned for the A77 between Turnberry and Girvan in South Ayrshire, will see almost 2.5 miles of road realigned and widened to create new overtaking opportunities. This project, which forms part of the A77 Route Action Plan, will bring real safety benefits while improving overall journey time reliability.
The exhibition coincides with the publication of draft orders for the scheme and these will be available to view on the day. All information from the exhibition will also be available on the Transport Scotland website after the event.
Venue: The Carrick Buildings Learning Centre, Henrietta Street, Girvan, on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th March from 10am – 12 noon (Pre Exhibition) & 12 noon – 8pm, Saturday 10am – 5pm.
