Argyll Gets Affordable Housing Project

Construction News Image
Fyne Homes, an Argyll based registered social landlord, are gearing up to commence an ambitious £7.7m project for affordable housing in Lochgilphead, Argyll.

The project, which starts on site on Monday 1st February is the result of hard work by Fyne Home’s New Business Director, Peter McDonald, along with his Design Team who have battled against the odds to produce a scheme that can work financially and practically in the face of the current HAG subsidy targets.

This has not been easy during a recession and has been a welcome economic boost for the local economy.

Peter McDonald, Fyne Home's New Business Director said: "We are delighted to be commencing works at last, we have waited a long time to get to this stage and are extremely pleased, especially in the current financial climate where we are feeling the pinch. We are grateful to Argyll and Bute Council and The Scottish Government for providing the much need funding support required to get this project underway."

The houses, designed by Oban – based CP Architects, will be built by local contractor MacLeod's Construction over 2 phases.
