Work Begins At New Irvine Business Park

Work has started to create a new, high quality and energy efficient business park to benefit the Irvine Bay area.

Annickbank, Irvine will be built with the very highest energy efficiency ratings – essential at a time when more and more businesses are looking to cut costs and minimise their carbon footprint.

Irvine Bay Regeneration Company welcomed the start of work on site by Speyroc Ltd., its development partner.

Speyroc was selected by Irvine Bay Regeneration Company to develop the new business park as the firm has an excellent track record in the delivery of high quality, flexible space that is built to very high environmental standards.

Annickbank will be built to the BREEAM 'Excellent' level, ensuring maximum energy efficiency for the occupiers, every building on the park will also have an ‘A’ rated energy performance certificate.

Alexander Haig, Speyroc MD, commented: "Our experience gained from similar projects confirms that occupiers looking for new space are highly focused on the ongoing costs to their business. We therefore aim to provide well designed flexible space that is highly energy efficient. This allows us to offer space at not only a competitive price but keep the running costs down. Given concerns about energy costs in the future this will be a key factor to most businesses."

Arthur Watson of Irvine Bay Regeneration Company added: "This is a major step forward for the area. Annickbank will provide excellent space suitable for a wide range of companies. We are convinced that this project will help in the regeneration of the wider area."

Following completion of the infrastructure works, Speyroc’s first phase will incorporate two styles of building. One will be a pavilion office building with suites ranging from 1,000 sq ft to 14,000 sq ft. The other will be terrace style units ranging from 1,000 sq ft to 4,000 sq ft.

Space will be available to let or buy, and final specifications can be tailored to suit individual companies requirements. It is anticipated that space will be available in a year’s time, and discussions are already taking place with interested companies.
