Land Securities has appointed Robin Brydon MRICS as a new Management Surveyor for Scotland and the North East of England.
In his new role as the Management Surveyor, Robin will deal with a broad range of property management matters from service charge apportionment to landlord's consents, assignments, sub lettings, rates mitigation, liaising with centre managers, staff, agents and solicitors both in Scotland and the North East of England.
High profile shopping destinations such as The Centre in Livingston, Aberdeen's Bon Accord & St Nicholas Centres and The Bridges in Sunderland form part of Robin's remit. In addition, Robin is responsible for Land Securities' Retail Parks One, Two and Three in Livingston, Dundee's Kingsway West Retail Park, and a number of mixed properties adjacent to both centres in Aberdeen.
Robin, 49, joins Land Securities from Chartered Surveyors, storeys:ssp where he was an Associate Director responsible for valuation, landlord/tenant and property management. Previously, Robin was at Roxburgh and Co. and DTZ where he worked on projects ranging from Irvine's Rivergate Centre, Falkirk's Howgate Centre, Glasgow's Sauchiehall Centre and the Regent Centre in Kirkintilloch. He has a wealth of experience in retail property management, gleaned from a career which has spanned almost 20 years as a Chartered Surveyor.
Robin said: "I am delighted to have joined Land Securities and I'm very excited about the role. These remain testing times for the retail industry but I look forward to the challenges ahead. We have a responsibility to try to help retailers as they face the most difficult economic conditions in recent years.

Robin began his career with the Scottish Office, later joining Edinburgh City Council's Estates Department as a trainee surveyor before moving to the private sector after qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor.
