Lovell has been chosen as a contractor partner by the Rowan Group, a consortium of eight housing associations operating in Edinburgh and the surrounding area.
As a member of the Rowan Group's contractor framework, Lovell will help the Group to deliver its four-year, £55 million programme of new housing development.
"We are delighted to have been selected to join the Rowan Group’s contractor framework and look forward to working with the Group to build high-quality, energy-efficient affordable homes for residents," said Lovell Regional Director Alan Taylor.
The Rowan Group has been one of the City of Edinburgh Council’s preferred partners for housing development funding since 2004. Collectively, the Rowan’s Group’s eight members - Barony, Dunedin Canmore Group, Manor Estates, Margaret Blackwood, Muirhouse, Prospect and Viewpoint Housing Associations, Link Group and Malcolm Homes Ltd - own over 8,500 properties in Edinburgh.
Susan Napier, business development director at Dunedin Canmore Group said: "The Rowan Group invited applications from contractors to form a framework of five firms to deliver our anticipated programme of £55 million new build affordable homes over the next four years. We were delighted with the level of interest and Lovell’s membership reflects the high quality of their submission."
Lovell is working on a number of new-build affordable housing schemes in Scotland, including a major regeneration development in Oxgangs, Edinburgh, for Dunedin Canmore Housing Association.
The company also has a four-year framework agreement with Midlothian Council.
