Property maintenance firm One Call Home Assist has secured a deal to provide emergency repairs and maintenance with a leading Scottish letting company.
The Edinburgh-based firm, which provides maintenance contracts designed to help homeowners and landlords save thousands of pounds in repair bills, has agreed a deal with Karaman Lettings to provide emergency repairs on some of its portfolio of properties.
One Call Home Assist was set up earlier this year as a low-cost alternative to fixed maintenance contracts offered by energy suppliers such as British Gas and Homeserve. Under the new deal, it will provide monthly emergency maintenance contracts on more than 40 of Karaman Lettings' properties in Edinburgh.
Yvonne Karaman, owner of Karaman Lettings, said: "We believe our customer service is second-to-none but don't rest on our laurels. We are always looking at ways to improve our service to our existing landlord clients and One Call Home Assist's promise to attend to all emergency callouts within two hours was a real deal maker for us.
"The contracts protect the fabric of the rental properties and give both our landlords and tenants peace of mind. With the first hour of labour covered under the policy, as well as the first £100 of materials, it also saves our landlords money - so it's a genuine win-win for everybody."
The deal is the latest success for One Call Home Assist, which was set up in Edinburgh earlier this year. Over the past few months, the firm has expanded its business and now offers fixed price contracts on hundreds of properties across the Capital, Fife, the Lothians and Glasgow.
The company has also taken enquiries from foreign investors from as far afield as Dubai and Australia, who have bought properties in Scotland but do not want the hassle of being contacted by tenants whenever emergency repairs are needed.
Paul Greaves, managing director at One Call Home Assist, said: "We're delighted to have agreed to provide our maintenance contracts for Karaman Lettings. It is a respected company with a good history in Edinburgh’s rental sector, so to have them on board is a great boost for us."
