Aberdeen-based sustainable energy solutions firm Active is celebrating having won the Business Success (over 3 years) Award at the Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise.
The ceremony, which took place on the 22nd of October, recognised the business achievements and entrepreneurship of companies and individuals in the north east of Scotland.
The Business Success (over 3 years) Award recognises businesses that have been trading for over three years and are successfully on track to achieve exceptional, sustainable organic growth in any market sector.
Active is a leading provider of sustainable energy systems for the construction industry in Scotland, specialising in air and ground source heat pumps as well as energy efficient air-conditioning and ventilation.
Ian Nicol, Managing Director of Active said: "2009 has been a fantastic year, having launched our new headquarters - the Active Renewable Energy Centre – in June, and I am delighted that we have been recognised by the judges.
"I can't deny that we are operating in a challenging marketplace at the moment, but I’m extremely proud of the team at Active and this award is a tribute to their hard work and dedication."
Active was described by the judges as a real success story and an example of what can be achieved with great leadership. Working in an emerging market, Active has reacted to changing demands and grown, thanks to continual investment in the business.
The annual Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise are organised by Enterprise North East Trust (Enterprise) and sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council. Held at the Mercure Ardoe House Hotel, Dr Frank Dick OBE, former coach of Olympic gold medal winners Daley Thompson and Denise Lewis delivered the keynote address.
