Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has opened a new office in Forfar.
The office will offer residential lettings plus commercial and residential survey and valuation work.
Headed up by Lesley Davie, the new office, located at 44 West High Street, is Shepherd’s thirtieth in Scotland.
Commenting on the new office opening, Mr Davie, a native of Montrose, said: "I'm delighted to be given this opportunity to introduce our services to Forfar at a time when there are encouraging signs that we are starting to emerge from the recession.
"Given the volume of enquiries we've received recently about properties available for rent in Forfar, it’s evident that Forfar is very much an expanding market.
"With the mortgage market still in the process of recovering, many people are opting to rent accommodation and the demand for rented property remains very strong in Angus"
"Meanwhile, the introduction of the new Home Reports has led to an uptake in demand for our residential surveying offering throughout Angus which we will now service from our Forfar, Montrose and Dundee offices," he added.
Paul Letley, managing partner J&E Shepherd, said: "The chief motivation behind the opening of our Forfar office is to provide a more local service to our clients based in Angus. Our new office will offer residential lettings as well as commercial and residential surveys and valuation work and will complement our other local offices in Dundee, Montrose and Perth."
The firm has a large client base in the Angus area and it's hoped the local presence in Forfar will enable this to grow. The new office will handle lettings for Forfar, Kirriemuir, Brechin, Montrose, Arbroath, Carnoustie and the smaller Angus towns.
"In the present market it is particularly gratifying to be able to announce that we are expanding our office base to better serve our clients in the new Home Report environment, where local knowledge, speed of service and our professional approach means that being close to our customers is of primary importance," he concluded
Established over 125 years ago in Scotland, J&E Shepherd delivers a valuation service throughout the UK, from a network of 30 offices throughout Scotland and over 75 locations in England, Wales and the Channel Islands.
It offers a multi disciplinary property service to include valuation, commercial agency, building surveying, rent reviews, development and investment consultancy, rating and property management. J&E Shepherd is now one of the largest independent firms of chartered surveyors in the UK.
