Founded in 2000 by Simon Gleed, we have 14 years of experience which we utilise to provide all of our clients with innovative solutions and excellent service when undertaking both new projects and redevelopments/upgrades.

Feasibility Studies
Gleed Services Limited has developed a full feasibility study and mapping service, of which clients can select various levels depending on their specific survey requirements.

Our typical Study comprises the following elements:

• Desk study – the review of statutory service records and other site-specific data, either supplied by the client or compiled by Gleed Services Limited. The findings contribute towards the planning of the project
• Field inspection – we measure, record and photograph each attribute e.g. inspection covers, man holes, etc.
• Geotechnical investigation report
• GPR analysis to provide accurate and thorough site investigation
• Topographical surveying using topcon 9005A robotic total station EDM
• Marking out of high voltage cables in substations and providing detail report of depth and position

Horizontal Directional Drilling
Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is a steerable, trenchless directional boring method of installing underground pipes, conduits and cables in a shallow arc along a prescribed bore path by using a surface launched drilling rig. Horizontal Directional Drilling minimises environmental disruption and impact upon the surrounding area, and is used when trenching or excavating is not practical.

Civil Engineering
Gleed Services ltd has a vast knowledge of open cut excavation works in busy roads, footpaths and fields. We can provide services for the installation of power cables ranging from LV, HV and EHV, all staff are qualified to enter substations up to a 132kv.

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
Ground Penetrating Radar technology allows you to see the position and depth of pipes and cables in real time, a non-destructive, geophysical method of penetration that can be used in a variety of ground formation including rock, clay, soils, pavements and roads.

By using radar pulses to image the subsurface, GPR can detect objects, changes in ground formation. With Pipe Hawk Gleed Services Ltd can work smart and work safe, surveying and marking the site as we go. It puts us in control and makes projects more predictable, eliminating delays and unexpected surprises.

Overhead Power lines
Gleed Services Limited work on behalf Distribution Network Operators (DNOs ) in the UK. We carry out a wide range of power engineering solution to our clients this to include repair and maintenance of overhead power lines, underground cable installation, construction and maintenance of substations.

• Removal of buried pit transformers, installation of new distribution substations, re-routing underground cable network
• Own and operate a Vacuum excavator to limit risk from cable strikes

The majority of our overhead power line projects are part of a bigger project which might involve 11kv/33kv cable laying, directional drilling, construction and maintenance of substations etc.
